The linen behind LINNAIS

The linen behind LINNAIS

When we started LINNAIS, finding the right linen was one of the most important parts.

We didn't want a thin, lightweight napkin. We wanted linen with some weight to it. Something that feels substantial in your hand, holds its shape beautifully on the table and is made to be used over and over again.

Made in Lithuania

Our napkins are made from 100% linen and produced in Lithuania by a family-run business specialising in linen home textiles.

Lithuania has a long tradition of linen production, and keeping our production within Europe was important to us from the beginning.

The fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances according to OEKO-TEX requirements.

What does 200 GSM mean?

Our linen weighs 200 GSM, or 200 grams per square metre.

GSM simply tells you the weight of a fabric. At 200 GSM, our linen has a substantial feel and plenty of structure without becoming overly heavy or stiff.

For us, it was exactly what we were looking for in a table napkin. It folds beautifully, feels substantial on the table and has enough structure to work well with our embroidered names and monograms.

Linen that gets better with use

One of the things we love about linen is that it gets better with time.

With washing and use, the fibres soften while the fabric keeps the texture and character that make linen special.

Our napkins aren't meant to sit in a cupboard waiting for the right occasion. They're made for dinner on a Wednesday just as much as Christmas, birthdays and long tables full of friends.

Use them. Wash them. Iron them. Then use them again.

That's what they're made for.
